Julie Grolleau

Paediatric and Sports Podiatrist

After 3 years in France as a shareholder at the Podiatry Centre of the Mathilde Clinic in Rouen, I learned the importance of analysing postures of the lower limbs, the pelvis and the back thoroughly and efficiently.

As I am currently the head chiropodist of the gait analysis laboratory at the Chirec Delta site, and work with the Royal Leopold Club's "Work For it" Paramedical team, joining the BPOPC centre was essential for me.

My aim is to try to provide a modern, comfortable, efficient and child-friendly orthopaedic therapy solution.

Eddie Cohen

Paediatric Radiologist

As a graduate of ULB, former Head of the Cavell Radiology Department and Honorary Consultant at the Queen Fabiola Children's Hospital, I have been practicing paediatric imaging since 1985 and antenatal screening for foetal pathologies.

I am very interested in the child-parent relationship in my daily practice and I am happy to practice in a high-quality multidisciplinary group.

Caroline Prégardien

Paediatric Anaesthesiologist

Dr Prégardien has been an anaesthesiologist since 2013. During her training at the VUB (Vrije Universiteit Brussel), she very quickly developed an interest in paediatrics and continued her career with a 6th year of fellowship in paediatric anaesthesia at the Saint-Luc University Clinics.

She began her career here, first as a resident, then as assistant head of clinic where she developed her expertise and perfected her knowledge by taking the paediatric inter-university diploma in anaesthesia at Lilles University Hospital. Since 2016, she has been an active member of the BAPA (Belgian Association of Anaesthesia).

Intrigued by pain and all its aspects, in 2016, she took the Certificate of Hypnosis in Acute Pain and Anaesthesia (Emergencies), in order to practice hypnosis and distraction techniques in her daily practice. Dr Prégardien is joining the BPOPC team to organise optimal perioperative management of patients requiring surgery.

Her expertise in acute pain in children will also be useful for the multidisciplinary management of certain painful pathologies (osteomyelitis, etc.) in order to reduce the risk of chronic pain.

Alexia De Menten

Paediatric Physiotherapist

I graduated in physiotherapy in 2014 from Parnasse-deux-Alice, I then specialised in the field of paediatrics, thanks to various types of training and professional experiences.

I manage various orthopaedic pathologies such as congenital torticollis, foot malformations (club feet varus equinus, etc.), after-effects of brachial plexus, scoliosis, fractures, sprains, rheumatic pathologies, etc. I can also monitor your child if you notice a delay or have concerns about their psychomotor development. Physiotherapy sessions can help them to develop as harmoniously as possible.

I find it very important to have a trusting relationship with the parents because you too have a big role to play in their management and we will face all the challenges together.

Laurence Goffin

Paediatric Rheumatology

Dr Laurence Goffin has been a paediatrician since 2004 and began her full-time career at the Queen Fabiola Children's University Hospital (QFCUH). After completing her University Diploma in Paediatric Rheumatology at the Necker Enfants Malades Hospital in Paris, she has since specialised in this discipline.

Since 2012, she has been working part-time in the paediatrics department of Cavell and then Delta, while maintaining her part-time activity at the QFCUH. Faced with children's pain on a daily basis as part of medical procedures or due to chronic pathologies, she completed an Inter-University Diploma on "The management of children's pain in daily practice" at the Trousseau Hospital in Paris.

She is joining the BPOPC team to work on her subspecialty in paediatric rheumatology for the management of various rheumatic pathologies (juvenile idiopathic arthritis, systemic inflammatory diseases, recurrent hereditary fevers, etc.) or chronic musculoskeletal pain.

Marie Hallez

Paediatric Physiotherapist

Graduated in physiotherapy and rehabilitation in 2011, at the Free University of Brussels (ULB). Over the years I have specialised in paediatrics, through various training courses, university certificates, internships and humanitarian experiences in Africa. I have always been interested in motor rehabilitation, guiding and accompanying a child and their family in order to give their back a movement or a function that had been lost or had become deficient.

The field of paediatric orthopaedics represents a wide range of pathologies affecting the growing musculoskeletal system. I use many types of management, from infants to teenagers, from torticollis to scoliosis, including growth pathologies. My role is to give back movement, the pleasure of moving so that your children can have the best possible psychomotor development. We work on rehabilitation in sessions and it continues with exercises at home. As parents you will also have a role to play in the treatment.

One of the specificities of the centre is managing malpositions and malformations in infants with, among other things, the manufacture of thermo-formable splints. One of the pathologies frequently treated is equine varus clubfoot, using the Functional Method, at the City Clinic.

Erell Filloque

Paediatric Physiotherapist

After graduating in physiotherapy in 2010 at the ULB, I quickly turned to paediatric physiotherapy and I devoted my work entirely to it from 2012.

I have had the opportunity through my different workplaces to work with all kinds of children and pathologies, and I have gradually honed my skills in my specialties which are paediatric orthopaedics and child development.

I can accompany you and your child in their development (whether pathological or not) so that this development is natural, harmonious, autonomous and that their first major steps go as smoothly as possible: Turning, rolling, moving, sitting, walking, etc.

I am capable of treating paediatric orthopaedic pathologies, in particular malpositions/malformations of the feet or hands,

and torticollis, often responsible for plagiocephaly. Early treatment and prevention of cranial deformities is one of my priorities.

Nathalie Geerts

Prosthetist, Orthotist and Truss Maker

We are technicians of external equipment for therapeutic purposes and we make custom-made or standard orthoses according to medical prescriptions, pathologies and the morphology of the patient after clinical testing.

Our profession helps to maintain, correct or rest one or more parts of the musculoskeletal system in order to relieve patients. An orthosis is a device that compensates for an absent or deficient function, assists a joint or muscle structure or stabilises a body segment during a rehabilitation or rest phase.

Pascal Rase

Prosthetist and Orthotist

Since the creation of our company Orthopédia, our Brussels team has been mainly dedicated to paediatric and neuro-paediatric orthopaedics.

In paediatric orthopaedics we have to treat pathologies such as scoliosis, club feet, hip dysplasia, plagiocephaly, etc. In neuro-paediatric orthopaedics we are faced with a population of children with cerebral palsy for whom we design seat corsets, verticalisation planes and different orthoses for the lower and upper limbs.
